Ghana Premier League: Hearts 1 – 5 Medeama – Yellow and Mauves beat Phobians to a pulp

Medeama SC on Sunday afternoon thrashed Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak SC at the Accra Sports Stadium to go top of the league table after 31 matches.

The Tarkwa lads beat the Phobians to a pulp at their own backyard with a commanding display against the ailing Phobians.

Derrick Fordjour opened the scoring in the 17th minute of the match to put the away team in the lead with a nice finish.

 

One minute after the half hour mark, Hearts were awarded a spot kick which was converted by Ibrahim Salifu to make it one all.

 

Three minutes later, Vincent Atingah converted a spot kick to put the visitors 2-1 on 35th minute mark to restore their lead with a cool finish.

 

Former Danbort striker, Jonathan Mensah Sowah scored the third goal to make it 3-1 before the break.

 

Jonathan Sowah, on the 85th minute grabbed his brace before Kwesi Donsu added the fifth goal to make it 5-1.

 

Medeama are top of the league table after 31 matches with 53 points and will face Medeama in their next game at home.

The Yellow and Mauves have their destiny in their own hands as we enter I to the last three hands of the season leading Aduana Stars FC by a point.
