Premier League leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC drew 1-1 at home to Karela United FC in the match week 22 game on Thursday evening.

The Porcupine Warriors came from a goal down to secure a vital home point against the Pride and Passion side from Anyinase.

Kotoko played greater part of the game with 10 men as captain Abdul Ganiu was sent off after a foul on Kelvin Andoh in the first half just at the edge of the box.

The former Kotoko player, Andoh, grabbed the opening goal of the match to put the away team 1-0 up with a close range header following a cross from a corner kick.

Kotoko didn’t look like a team playing with 10-men as striker Frank Mbella equalized to make it 1-1 before the half time whistle.

This was the Cameroonian’s 15th goal in the Ghana Premier League this season.

Kotoko were the better side in the second half but were unable to find the all important goal as the game ended 1-1.

Kotoko are still leading the Ghana Premier League with 46th points and eight points clear at the top.

Kotoko ewill play Kumasi King Faisal FC next Sunday at the same venue before next week’s Super Clash against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak SC.

They will miss their talismanic captain, Ganiyu in both games.
