Spain-based Ghana striker Inaki Williams earns 1st Black Stars call-up for Brazil clash

Spanish side Athletic Bilbao forward Inaki Williams earns first national call-up for the upcoming International friendly matches against Brazil and Nicaragua.

The 28-year-old recently switched international allegiance to Ghana and has been given a call-up to play for Ghana by coach Otto Addo.

He made history when he became the first black player to score in the club’s 117-year history after netting against Torino in February 2015.

He recently declared his love for the country and has been rewarded with a call-up for playing so well for Bilbao in the Spanish La Liga.

The 29-man squad includes Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey, Southampton FC’s Mohammed Salisu, Stephan Ambrosius of Karlsruher SC and Inaki Williams who plays for Spanish La Liga side Athletic Bilbao.

Ghana will play two matches in the September window as part of preparations towards the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals in November/December.

Ghana will play Brazil on Friday, September 23, at Stade Oceane in Le Harve- France before taking on Nicaragua at Estadio Francisco Artes Carrasco in Lorca, Spain on Tuesday, September 27, 2022.
